We will be holding a event for Don Tilley on May 3rd. There is going to be alot of great prizes and cash to be given away. The American Cancer Society will be there handing out cancer awareness litature and taking donations for this cause. Please come show your support for Don by attending this race. All PMTs will race for free providing they make a donation to the American Cancer Society. Looking forward to seeing the RC Family there in full force. The race will be held at WCRC in Wilksboro, NC

A few week's ago one of my best friends, and a friend to a lot of you, was diagnosed with cancer. A month ago Don started filling bad, went to the doctor, and now he's in the hospital, not doing well. This has opened my eye's in away i've never known. If in some small way our R/C family can help this from not happening in the furture by a tribute race, and donations, how great would that be, and doing what we enjoy, R/C racing.
I know the date is coming, and the format of the race itself, but i do know the Production Monster Truck class was what Don raced, so i'm working on this one. The PMT class will " NOT " have a entry fee. A donation to the on site 'Foundation' will be the entry, with no set amount.
There will be trophy's for 1st.2nd.and third. And they will be "NICE", and team URR is putting up "ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS" to the winner of the PMT class, so dust them off and let's race for a cure.

I have Known and raced with Don for almost a year now he is a great man. He has loaned me parts to make the main in a race where we competing against one another. I don't know how many of you race but the more the merrier.

Let's get behind this one guys, if you can't go, send your donation with someone that can.

Is there someplace we can donate to TACS and earmark it for that particular event?

I will check all the classes running and post them. If you cant make it just donate to your local american cancer society chapter and maybe Donate in Don tilley's name. They will also be taking donations for Don I will find out if there is someone to get those to for him if you can't make it to the track.

Yes there will be electric. From what I understand if there are enough they will race in thier own class if not they will run with 10th scale nitros. I think there will be a big enough turout to run an electric class or two. I will be able to post a flyer in a few days.

As for Donations. I spoke witht the race coordinator this afternoon. Most donations will be taken at the track. But if you want you can just donate to the ACS. it all goes to the cause. They will take donations for Don as well, these donations will be in the form of raffles, auctions, and $5 of every entry fee goes to Don. and additional $5 ges to the ACS. For those who cannot make it to the track I am trying to get an answer as to whether or not there will be any way to donate to Don Tilley.

A little side note. As of right now on top of the trophies there is an HPI E firestorm up for grabs as well as about $200 in cash prizes. This is still early though so I am sure the pot will fill up. I mentioned the event today when I was getting a haircut and they donated Two coupons for free haircuts. I will keep everyone updated.

Thanks guys for your support with this event. This is going to be racing for a great cause and I hope everyone will make it up to race. It will be a great time. Thanks to revodebo for the help he has offered to me on this event. It means alot to me to have so many people willing to help. We are working on getting information on where to send donations for those who may not be able to attend in person. I or revodebo will let everyone know when it gets worked out. I have started getting prizes from various companies to give and raffle away at this event. I will post all of these items when I receive all of them and figure out how to award them. We all are apart of a big thing here and everyone needs to give theirself a pat on the back for the good they are doing. If anyone needs to contact me revodebo has my number he can give to you in private. We will keep you posted on this event as new info comes in. Thanks again all and I hope to see you in Wilkes May 3rd.

I'll ask the wifes permission (strange to say that). I don't see a problem as long as I am off work that weekend. Will there be any electric 1/10 touring?

More good news for the race. Johnny Bridges who owns Nitro valley decided that he wanted to do more than donate trophies. He has donated $200 in cash for prize money on top of the trophies. So looks like there is now $350 total cash prizes as of right now. and still a month to go. Can anyone interested please PM me I am curious to see who's going.

We still have a bunch of companies to call also to try to get more stuff donated. This is going to be a Huge event for this great cause. I know we have had more donations over the weekend. We are trying to work a deal with a couple of motels in the area to off a special room rate for those who may come up on Friday. There will be open practice on Friday starting around lunch. Cant wait to see everyone there and also thanks to revodebo on keeping everyone here up to date on the info for this race. PS : We have someone who has a contact at Traxxas to try to get them to send us a surprize. I will say it is a VERY good contact so we will see what happens. Thanks again for everyones support and we keep posting new info as we get it.
